Kristy Adams, a local businesswoman has been selected as the Conservative parties Parliamentary Candidate for Mid Sussex at the next general election.
Members of the Mid Sussex Conservative Association voted to select Kristy as the parliamentary candidate at a Special General Meeting (SGM) on Saturday 2nd September, hosted at Warden Park School in Cuckfield.
Having attended Handcross Primary and Warden Park School, Kristy grew up in the constituency, where she lives, and was a Mid Sussex District Councillor for Bolney ward.
In 2022 she worked with residents to protect 3 villages from over development – with her ward having the highest response rate to the district plan.
She is fiercely opposed to the Liberal Democrat policy of ‘15-minute towns’, that would impose ULEZ-esque restriction on Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath.
Kristy brings her extensive commercial and business acumen, developed over the course of a career in the retail sector and the building industry, seeing her ideally placed to champion the causes of residents and small businesses to deliver the town centre Burgess Hill needs and deserves.
Speaking after her selection, Kristy Adams said: “I am immensely honoured to be selected as the next Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Mid Sussex, a place I am proud to call home.”
“As a local resident and small business owner I already understand the issues that matter to Mid Sussex so I can hit the ground running.”
“As we approach the next general election, I am looking forward to running a positive and respectful campaign that the people of this constituency expect and deserve.”
Welcoming Kristy’s selection, Mid Sussex Conservative Association Chairman Cllr Jim Knight said: “We are delighted that Kristy has been adopted as our candidate for the next General Election.
“She has already proved herself as an effective local champion and understands the priorities of communities throughout our constituency.
“Our team is excited to support Kristy in her campaign to be our next MP.”
